Interesting Pioneer Soda Works

Here is a recent swapmeet find from down on the border. This is a true blob soda, 1st one I have seen without the Shield or being a stubby. Came from an Old Digger, I think it has been oiled or has had Shellac applied to it a way long time ago, has that smell to it. I guess some Acetone will get rid of it? DB

  1. Hi Rick,

    Thanks for sharing!

I've seen a handful of those Pioneer sodas without the shield. They aren't rare, but certainly aren't common either, so nice score (especially for S.D.).

I don't have any experience using acetone, but you could try lemon and vinegar, then coca-cola, then lime away, and lastly Muriatic acid. One of those should do the trick, or a light tumble would also help.
